Samiul Nibir Receives Future Professor of America Fellowship to Continue Ph.D. Research in TARAFDER Lab

The TARAFDER Lab is pleased to announce that Samiul Nibir, a newly admitted Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota State University, has been awarded the prestigious Future Professor of America Fellowship by the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering.

This fellowship recognizes outstanding graduate students who demonstrate strong potential for academic and research excellence, as well as a commitment to pursuing careers in higher education.

Samiul, who recently completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at SDSU as the first graduate from the TARAFDER Lab, will continue his doctoral research under the mentorship of Dr. Solaiman Tarafder, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. His work focuses on biofabrication and regenerative engineering, particularly the development of biomimetic scaffolds for soft-to-hard tissue interface repair using advanced 3D bioprinting technologies.

The Future Professor of America Fellowship will support Samiul’s continued research, professional development, and preparation for a future role as a faculty member in engineering.

The TARAFDER Lab congratulates Samiul on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to the important discoveries his continued research will bring.
