Hasan Rafsan Jani represented the Tarafder Lab at the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) Annual Meeting 2026, held March 27–31 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ORS meeting is a premier international forum for cutting-edge research in orthopaedics, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine.
Rafsan’s abstract was selected as a finalist for the New Biomaterial Pitch Competition in the ORS Implant Section, recognizing the novelty and translational potential of his work. As part of the competition, he delivered an oral pitch presentation on March 28th.
In both his oral pitch and poster presentation, Rafsan presented his work titled:
“A Next-Generation, Suture-Free Cartilage Repair Strategy Using a Col II Patch Graft and hPDA Fueled Bioglue.”

His research focuses on a novel collagen II patch graft designed for cartilage defect repair, enabling suture-free application while promoting a more biomimetic healing environment.
Notably, Rafsan was also awarded the “Move and Shaker” category, a distinction based on audience voting conducted before and after the presentations. This award recognizes the presentation that demonstrated the greatest positive impact and engagement with the audience, highlighting Rafsan’s ability to effectively communicate the significance of his work.
In addition to the pitch competition, Rafsan presented a poster and engaged with researchers and clinicians working at the forefront of orthopaedic biomaterials and regenerative strategies.
We congratulate Rafsan on these outstanding achievements and his excellent representation of the Tarafder Lab at ORS 2026.
