During the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) Annual Meeting 2026, held March 27–31 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Tarafder Lab experienced a meaningful academic reunion. Fatima Elzahra Essassi (Zahra) and Hasan Rafsan Jani had the opportunity to meet Dr. Chang Lee, creating a special moment of connection across academic generations.
It was particularly rewarding for Zahra and Rafsan to meet their academic grandfather, Dr. Lee, and engage in discussions that bridged mentorship, research, and shared scientific interests. Such interactions highlight the importance of academic lineage and the continuity of ideas across generations of researchers. Notably, Dr. Tarafder previously worked as a postdoctoral research scientist with Dr. Lee at Columbia University Medical Center.
These moments of connection and mentorship underscore the collaborative and interconnected nature of the orthopaedic research community and serve as inspiration for the next generation of scientists in the Tarafder Lab.
